Public trails for skiing, biking, hiking, and outdoor recreation.

Northern Maine Community Trails is a year-round trail system open to the public for Nordic skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and outdoor recreation in Presque Isle, Maine.

For many years the property was known as the Nordic Heritage Center and has long been part of life outdoors in Aroostook County. Generations of local families have learned to ski here. Local races and events have brought the community together on these trails, and many residents have simply come here to spend time outside.

Today the trails are maintained by Northern Maine Community Trails, a local nonprofit organization committed to preserving this place as a public resource. Volunteers, donors, and community partners work together to maintain the trail network, care for the lodge, and ensure the property remains open and welcoming.

Our goal is simple: maintain the trails, steward the land responsibly, and provide a place where people of all ages can gather, recreate, and enjoy the outdoors. With continued community support, Northern Maine Community Trails will remain an important part of life in Aroostook County for generations to come.
