OUR STORY

Northern Maine Community Trails is a year-round trail system open to the public for Nordic skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and outdoor recreation in Presque Isle, Maine. For many years the property was known as the Nordic Heritage Center and has long been part of outdoor life in Aroostook County. Generations of local families have learned to ski here, local races and events have brought the community together on these trails, and many residents have simply come here to spend time outside.

OUR MISSION

Today the trails are maintained by Northern Maine Community Trails, a local nonprofit organization working to preserve this place as a public resource. Volunteers, donors, and community partners help maintain the trail network, care for the lodge, and keep the property open and welcoming to the public.
